Onion Syrup | Recipe
One onion sliced
1-2 cloves garlic – sliced (optional)
Sweetener – for example, honey, cane sugar or xylitol
- In a jar, alternate layers of the sliced onion and garlic with a layer of sweetener.
- Put the jar and contents into the fridge overnight.
- Once all the sugar has dissolved, (about 24-36 hours) strain the mixture The jar is good for up to a month (or more).
BENEFITS: Antimicrobial, expectorant.
CAUTION: If taking blood thinning medications, omit the garlic and check with your health practitioner before using the syrup.
